I wonder if the idol 'saving' him (and by extension all of them) will be played straight. That would be pretty novel, as in this type of story I'd normally expect it to be a set-up for the idol doing something the guy considers a betrayal in the future.

While I'm not sure I'd call this part of the series bad, I'm also not gonna call it good, especially compared to the first. Still think they should have just let it end and let the author move on to something new (though ofc maybe the author also wanted to continue it, who knows).
