I really hope the author brings this to a natural conclusion and not strip away the charm through unnecessary padding. This is on track to being a multi-time reread.
@Bestgirl_Ruka I'm actually fine with that. It's much better than losing interest as it loses is charm by dragging it out for a long time via unnecessary padding.
I'm sure everyone here can pull out examples of manga that would have been all time greats had they not overshot.
I feel as if the author went through this and is subtly warning the readers of what to expect both out of curtesy and venting frustration at the process.

I suppose it comes down to suspension of disbelief. You can find it ridiculous while I don't even bat an eye at it. The author has built a world in which the story takes place and not everything will be liked/understood/accepted by everyone...
