    @cromat I don't think so, but I don't know for sure. It might be just one of the more abrupt, cliffhanger-y endings. I only happened upon these two chapters by coincidence, they were published with one anthology that has since gone out of print, thus why I uploaded them.

    @dizzydazzle or maybe mercury poisoning? Both can appear as whitish metals, especially mercury salts. Even the short exposure could explain why Sugimoto and Shiraishi are both seeing the bear. Either way, I get the impression that it's actually Heita, but whatever the fuck is going on its creepy...
