@Lemillion That's the part that kind of confused me too. I'm guessing they "sang", but they didn't need to open their mouths to do it or some mumbo jumbo like that.

Switched over to volume raws because there are little changes and they're easier to work with on a whole, plus they don't wash out the tones as much as the magazine scans do. Onto desert 3 which is the land of flames in both the literal sense and the storytelling sense. Next arc is straight fire.

Sorry about the long break between chapters. Part of it was me wanting to work on my other series, but most of it was Yagi taking a break after every three chapters paired with the holiday breaks recently. Should be back to once a week for now.

@krispy The future lacile? He died in the original timeline to Barbaros in much the same fashion as he did in chapter 4. Except it was in front of Pipi, Meme, and gramps, and there was no one there to revive him that time.

@nutjob Fixed. And there wasn't really much shown of Leana and Lacile actually leaving the hut, so Leana must have told him to say goodbye to his little sisters before they left.

Nearly caught up. Only 3 more chapters out at the moment. Also, I'm not super attached to the name "Sarena" for the older Meme. I did a little research, and I feel like Salena could be a better fit, since it is closer to Leana's name and also is a derivative of "Selene", goddess of the moon...

@kalton It might have some historical basis, but I think it would be harder for people to understand without looking it up. It also reminds me of "dookie" when I read it, so I hope there are no hard feelings in me going with dukedom. Either way, they're gone now.

Was reading through this again and found the scan quality a little jarring. If anyone sees this, let me know if I should continue to update the other chapters that are low-res as well, now that I am able to.

I just want to make a little note that "gramps" (じいさん or Jii-san) and Sieg (ジークさん or Jiiku-san) are very identical names. It's a little nuance that plays a lot better in the native language and the connection for Lacile probably wouldn't have been made if they weren't so similar sounding.
