Yeah definitely not disagreeing with you there lol. Mangadex is much closer to ideal in that regard. Happen to know any websites that have a gender tag, user ratings, and the ability to filter by manhwa/manga (or origin language like Mangadex)?

Darn. Sad to see that this got rejected. Does anyone know a good workflow for searching for manga while excluding a gender? Might help people that also got here from Google like me. I tried mangaupdates, as suggested in the thread, but there's so many tags for genders (over 450 tags!) that...
