Why?
Cuz the authors know that the fans are all gonna fight about the ships, so they prolong the harems/love triangles and make it an important plot point for no reason plotwise, solely cuz it creates marketing for free to them, I fucking despise those guys.
Sometimes reading comments from here is even worse than reading comments from hentai websites... The cancer spreads pretty quickly, all it takes is 1 toxic guy.
