As an overly cautious person, though not as much as a certain cautious hero, if I was him and someone attempts to touch me like that I'll immediately use my appraisal on them... such a big lady, and one that can probably rip off my head in an instant, would really scare me.

The drama feeling isn't actually that great, I don't get the residual dread of someone getting left behind. It mostly feels chill, like a romcom (not a romcom that has heartbreaks all around though).
In Japan it's common for siblings to be really close, and it's not rare for a younger sister there to admire their older brother. Also, the author knows that siblings normally don't go beyond familial love.

Some of the badly translated/untranslated words and phrases can actually be fixed with a bit of Japanese understanding. Just a bit of knowledge in Japanese grammar can be a great help.
Context can also help a lot in translating.
