I actually cried a bit when Kaede stood her husband up on their anniversary in earlier episodes. He even approached her at the table one evening to choose her job or him. I can’t fault him because he was communicating with her.

I do not feel sorry for Kaede. She left that man by himself many many time when he expressed himself to her. Even made him feel humiliated when he wanted to be intimate with her. He addressed all these issues BEFORE he started liking Michi.

She’s upgrading herself. Using her time wisely to better herself. It seems like eventually she’ll separate from him.
