Not sure if I really am a fan of this direction. I think part of the appeal was that he was just a normal miserable guy and it's easy to self-insert, but now he's just destined to be the most miserable guy in existence? I guess the "plot" has to continue...

@Fmarulz I felt the same way when Kobayashi was able to use magic. The appeal of this manga (imo) is that Kobayashi is a mundane person interacting with magical beings. Her being the vessel of some ultimate power is very strange honestly.
