@popgoesthelalu I trust y'all when you say you really come out against abuse; I don't think there was any bad blood -- at least not from my side, I just get irritated when people defend abuse citing themselves as having come out fine. I appreciate the ping and taking time to talk about this.

@vessalius Abusive parents are very rarely actively malicious. When my dad was destroying my books or leaving me in a dark room with no electricity for hours I'm sure he thought he was doing me a service to straighten me up.

Even if you claim to explain what the child did wrong, it doesn't mean you don't do lifelong damage. Corporal punishment is abuse, plain and simple.

No. There is NEVER a good reason to be an abusive parent. I used to be beaten, then my father decided to move on to psychological pain instead. The only thing he achieved was that I feared him instead of trusting.

@enmpress when I was sitting in the hospital with appendicitis I blacked out a few times. You just notice you haven't been conscious when you come to it so I can totally believe she just crashed and slept while sitting due to stress.

@Esasaeriri I think it's less about being competitive and more just stopping to realise that time off is for some R&R as well, which is quite important.

Free or not, work deserves criticism. I too do scanlation for free but also aim to deliver the best quality releases I can even though I will not see a dime for it.

The English here is awkward, grammar is spotty. The difference is particularly stark after Asura's excellent job on the translation. I appreciate that the job is being done but it could be better, and the fact that Asura have dropped this isn't much of an excuse to lower standards.

Confronting dangerous looking strangers is actually pretty scary and stressful. Being intimidated by people who are trying to be as intimidating as they can is a natural thing.
