@Phyrexian_Dude Maybe the goal of the "test" is to eliminate mages and thus competition for power and money. This is also probably the reason there's much less mages than eighties years ago. Those on top eliminated or restricted them. Unions and other powerful professional groups do the same...

I still don't see how Eren could become so crazy, and turn on his friends. The author is always coming up with new ways to torture his characters.

It's kinda weird reading a manga where the main character is the villain. He from a different world, but he doesn't care much for life.

@Primus Yes, and manga artist seem to like these dumb death match tests. It seems that the author is trying explain it in this chapter, that the mages administering the test follow a brutal ideology.

The plot was killed along with Denji's normal life. It's seem to have become just a disjointed fight manga where Makima represents the author, leading us into this abyss. Will anyone resucitate Denji's normal life and the plot?
