This is glorious. This is why I keep clicking on Isekai titles, despite being let down so often. And who are the philistines ranking this below 8?

These are definitely the isekai heroes we deserve. And need.

Pretty disjointed story telling, fairly generic plot. It's not as bad as some of the other "I got kicked from my party because they couldn't appreciate my awesomeness" stories, but doesn't really shine anywhere either. Read the LN up to chapter 35, didn't feel too promising. Maybe a miracle...

Holy shit, this takes me back. Still have my full book set of Excel Saga sitting on my shelf that survived numerous growing-up/space-saving purges. Spent a long time years (decades?) ago trying to see if anybody, anywhere had tried scanlations of this. But even the raws told a pretty funny story...

Quite enjoyable. The MC is staying back, but it's not the generic 'I want a quiet life' schtick that so many isekai trot out, but more of a 'I have faith in the people around me', which is a nice change. Honestly, getting some Oh My Goddess! vibes from this.

Not going to lie, considering that an elephant trunk is often used as a gag censor bar, was seriously worried for a moment.
