@monozuki I think the implication from Frieren about Elves dying out is that Elves generally do not ever get close to others. Frieren is a rare exception. It's hard to know though, as we've only over met one other elf and we will never know if he was carrying a burden of friendships.

It's interesting to see the lore expanded from the Light Novels. I don't recall this part while reading it. In some of the later chapters you actually see one of the demons that Mahiru deals with, and it was a great reveal of something never directly stated in the LN source.
