I'd like to see the MC stay as a background character to the romance as well. I think it would be a refreshing change to the usual storylines.

It's really only good for fanservice so far. There are hints to what could be an interesting plot but if that's what you're here for I'd say come back in about 20 - 30 chapters. Hopefully, you might find something. The art style is good as is the concept, but it doesn't really go anywhere else...
