Cringe "originality" fans:
NOOO SUBVERT MY EXPECTATIONS NOW!!!! DOGSHIT WRITING!!!!! CRINGE!!!!!
Average "cliche" connoisseur:
They save the day with the power of friendship? Ah, splendid. Can't wait for the next chapter.
PS. Also, love how this chapter exposed so many people for being cringy...
I effin love it when people pretend to know stuff, acting all smart just to dunk on fantasy armors when they have zero knowledge about historical armors, the impact of fashion on armors throughout history, or in this case: basic archery chest guard, its purpose, construction and varieties.
Of course, kids are seething over 4chan-speak. Why am I not surprised.

If you think that someone who uses "riajuu" irl would say "normie" instead, you are sorely mistaken.
@Shoko0505 Indeed the cover is from the Light Novel, a lot of LN adaptations on mangadex have their LN covers set as the main cover because they just started and don't have their own tankobon covers yet. Also, hello to you too good sir!

Why are people reading romance if they don't want drama? It can go only 3 ways:
1. Love triangle and its iterations possibly branching into harem, drama, or tragedy. (Orange Road, Gotobu no Hanayome, anything written by Seo Koji)
2. One on one relationship that barely goes anywhere for 100+...
@Zap- They didn't drop it, if you read their blog you'll see that they had a server malfunction that resulted in data loss. Just wait for more chapters.
@bvdaf I'm pretty sure that is not the author's intention to put himself as a villain. If anything it seems like the gyaru, Gotou, and the kouhai are the voice of the author preaching to us. Selfinserts are not as prominent in Japanese stories, at least not as much as they are in western comics...
