Since the sword didn't cut through and went into the centaur's head, instead it just broke off upon contact ... to me, it looked like he bonked the centaur really hard with the sword instead of slashing.

Hmmm, it's been years since I last read "Last game", but I don't think it was in webtoon format originally. Oh well, it's an interesting change, nevertheless. One criticism I would make about this translation is the word "bitch". I don't think Yanagi used that word, or at least, not as a child...
