I do wonder, in Japanese original, did Hino actually ask Koguma to behave like a cat, or also just to not talk and the meowing is all from Koguma's side?

Their dynamic is certainly interesting. Also glad that the author also considered to not make everything one sided, which would have had a much different connotation.
