1224 pages later and we're done. I started translating this on a whim and thought 61 chapters wasn't a lot but I was dead wrong. I am glad I decided to do it since I loved the stories and nobody was going to pick this up anyway. If you enjoyed this manga, I recommend checking out Children of the...
I took a look at the final volume, I'll just say it doesn't seem like the manga was axed and had to be rushed.
There are quite a few more side stories.
Well, the only major plot point that really needs to be addressed is Yuu's father. But I agree it'll be disappointing if some of the other stuff doesn't get addressed like Yuu's 3 scales and Tomoe actually took Asahi's damaged eye but nothing ever came about with that.

Nothing significant but for anyone curious
The kanji used for Hiou is scarlet and song, not sure if that's going to have any significant meaning later.
We're almost at volume 5 now, I'm really looking forward to see how the story is going to play out because it seems like Asahi has her normal eye back on the volume 4 cover and Yuu is...
I agree, I love the stories the author tell in Children of the Whales so I decided to pick up this manga. It's certainly rough in many areas especially the fight scenes since it's her second work and her first manga was about volleyball but the stories told here are exactly what I was looking...
