Someone already said it, but things would be more interesting if the husband was actually an M and the main reason the second wife gets bedroom time is because she is the S :)

It's just following the novel and doing a time skip to show you what is coming. It will go back to spider life again in a chapter or two if it follows the novel.

I'm a bit disappointed with the portrayal or Amanda in the manga. I really like Amanda in the WN, but not really liking the manga interpretation of her.
