I see... I see... so they removed the part where she literally drugged Kaguya with a suspicious mushroom.
How kind of them to let Kaguya have at least some dignity left (well, still gonna lose dignity regardless)
Now that I think about... why doesn't the protagonist ever decide to gang up on the villains when they are having an "important" breakthrough that can't be interrupted.
Its a shame they didn't show how everyone was afraid of the potatoes and then eventually she convinces them it is safe to eat like in the novel.
Though I do disagree with previous comments on why they haven't discovered some cooking methods. Technology like cooking methods don't automatically...

Well, humans eat mammals perfectly fine, it isn't cannibalism.
And for some groups, eating other primates is also not cannibalism.
For simplicity sake, think of birds like how one bird might be looking at another as if we are looking delicious looking monkey or cow or something...
I was surprised reading similar sentences in Vietnamese and wondering if I was reading an unedited chapter but then I realized (late) that since Japanese are bad at English, most English readers would be bad at Vietnamese
