I like how as he's fixing up his fief, he is breaking his country's laws, which show how skewed/awful they are. It builds up for the main villians being royals or high nobles from his country.

I thought the off-brand spidergirl's introduction was similar to the introductions of the different spidermen from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Solid reference.
