Oh man, as readers we'd love to return to Amir and Karluk to see how they're doing, particularly as a reunion with Smith. What a bittersweet surprise for a manga to acknowledge that it just isn't possible. I'll always stan Mori Kaoru for her beautiful story telling choices.

This manga has aged incredibly well. It acknowledges many truths other stories ignore and does a great job setting up an epic and grand story while being completely honest. For example, the hero must gather the four swords but from the get go it's established that gathering these swords requires...
