@seiruo your point about all the goofy styles is solid though. I was probably just nitpicking because I love legitamite martial arts even in goofy series. Humans have learned more about martial arts in the last 30 years than we have for thousands of years because we have such high amounts of...
@seirio Lol I'm not bitching about anything. I can't even remember what my original comment was that has you so upset. I think Silat and other martial arts like Akido are super cool but I was probably saying something about how they aren't prevalent in modern mixed martial arts. And they are...
@seirio thanks for the salt but I'm aware of what Silat is. I'm talking about it's lack of prevalence in modern competive combat sports, which google could also help you with
@rancor lookout, he used birds eye view! Yeah, Baki is a shitshow and a progenitor of mma shitshows. It has a lot of flaws and can get the same critique times 10 although it gets a bit of leway for being older so that's a lame rebuttal
Oh right, let me pull up all the data from the success modern silat has in combat sports. Some wushu and kungfu have existed for 4,000 years but they are rarely used next to modernized and improved techniques.
Nah. People complaining are right. The best parts of this series are retreading and it's becoming more obvious. "He's gonna win" and flags like that in every direction. It's not that it's gotten bad as much as it has failed to evolve into anything more than a conceptual treadmill that is running...
I've been dissociative lately and it's becoming harder to find manga that capture my interest as my age advances. Maybe this is something I can relate to?
The sequels not as good because you can only have so many twists in a fight manga before you start teaching for silly shit. Also they are running out of relevant and battle tested martial arts. The first series had such defined characters and fighting styles and while there were some goofballs...
@0DvGate Spatial awareness is a fundamental of motion and any fighting style. Visualization is key to a lot of sports therapy. Birds eye view is nonsense.
