@cc12138030 it is indeed a cultural/linguistic thing - IIRC in Japanese using various forms of 'you' (ex. omae, teme) is more rude/informal compared to referring to someone by their name (i.e. so-and-so-san) even in a one on one conversation.

Not sure why this was rated so highly... Even putting aside the predictable setting and genre-standard OP protagonist, as an adaptation this manhwa is frankly not good. The artist rarely shows anything in the story with art - instead, every development and detail is conveyed through a barrage...

The faded out panel of the two men is from a flashback arc in kengan asura that showed how metsudo and the kure clan patriarch teamed up as young guys in post war japan to dominate the kengan matches and the japanese economy

Isn't that the point though? Purgatory is an underground fighting ring where the purpose is spectacle and entertainment, and Kengan was always about using fighters to takeover businesses and acquire assets
