"OKEY", sayeth the Dwarf king.
As iffy translations go this is nearing work-of-art levels. (...No offense to the scanlators, English is a difficult language.)
"What?! You're using mecha?! *ahem*—I'll give you two more chances to surrender, so please drag this out as long as possible and show me all your robots, er I mean, reconsider your actions and repent!"
Why are there tally marks on the side of his brand new sci-fi vehicle XD
Author using stock models much? :'p
Of course any such thing can be excused as the boy's fantasy. He was a starving illustrator after all! :'p Somehow. I'm continually amused at the extent to which that part of the...
It stretches belief to think that he would think their deal with the current demon army is worth anything, given the knowledge he has that they so freely backstab everyone even in broad-daylight deals... >_>
@immortalartisan:
Yeah, the stalking and consent problems in that other series eventually reached a no-go point for me (even if I was happy the series existed when I started reading it x_x; but there's not much point if it's like that, or so I felt); I cannot speak to its future, of course...
Occasionally I get wrapped up in all the foreboding things going on in this, or some such, and forget how devastatingly powerful its uncanny sense of humour is.
The moods of sudden and ongoing rampant chaos in this series are simply superb.
Socially-awkward puppy Duke is... if not my favourite side of him, by far and without a doubt the most entertaining.
When she does charge ahead, she really does charge ahead.
Or really... It's more like she normally lives with one foot pressing the brakes and the other hitting the gas (and indeed making a lot of noise and smoke), and then occasionally she takes the brake pedal off for a second and launches...
This feels distinctly incomplete, like it's either a doujinshi or has got additional context that we're missing from the author's twitter...?
Rather, it feels like reading an omake strip without having the associated comic XD
I'm adding an "ecchi" tag because this needs some content warning, and the broad intent seems plausibly gratuitous along those lines along with whatever else it is (to the extent that the author's intent can be discerned at all).
@ursa22:
Yeah I was wondering about that too.
Like maybe this isn't common sense for him, but she should know the concept of adjusting doses, one would think o_o;
I could do without all the parallels drawn between his girlfriend and the 8-year-old kid, and all the other pedophile-lite stuff. Ugh. C'mon, Japan -_-
"It can only register up to 72 people."
*Strokes chin* that number seems oddly specific, where have I heard that—
Oh... so she just casually handed him the Ring of Solomon. I see. ~w~
Honestly this backstory just made him seem even creepier to me, but at this point in the story, eh, whatever. It's not like him being a godawful stalker is new or anything.
So who is going to take this god bloke up on the immortal-dragon offer? XD
@Manchura: Since I am a pedant: Technically...
I'm just as relieved as hell he's not her sister, really, given all the foreshadowing. Phew XD
(Also I'm amused at the implication that the god made deals with whole a chain of people going "BUT I MUST SHOW MY APPRECIATION TO THAT ONE PERSON"—makes you wonder who's going to show up chasing...
...Okay, so much for it being vaguely cute in a weird half-consensual double-stalker way, now it's just creepy. On all levels.
I admit it is so horrifying that I'm going to read the next chapter out of horrified fascination, which is probably as much what the author was going for in the first...
Uh, what does one say.... ...At least they're both happy, I guess.
.___.;;
I would have preferred they also had mutually-consensual love, though, personally.
It seems very likely from MangaUpdate's entry 3/16 Jiken (as of this time only knows about this oneshot as part of an anthology)—
—that at the very least Nasu is probably also an author of this here. But who knows, maybe they wrote them blind alongside each other it in some really weird way...
