I think the comedy tag should just be removed from manga that don't focus too much on comedy. The problem is there's no way to set rules as to how tags should be used so anyone who uploads manga uses tags however they like

What you're looking for is drama, then. Not everyone reads manga to feel sad about real topics. Fiction is fiction, not reality. Also I don't read a lot of yuri/yaoi but I've heard Tamen De Gushi derailed from the lesbian storyline because of China's laws.
