@Fajken the hero party kicked him out, and at first glance, it was the thing to do, because he was getting weaker and being weakened by his usage of magic. This weakening was caused by a curse that was implicated to have been done by the Hero, or someone else within the party. Suffice to say...
@channington it probably isn't the case that he is incapable of doing so... Just that it isn't a viable tactic because he would leave himself open to a response if he tried to make it successful.
Reread the entire thing... Yup, the guy has been there the entire time, and any point where we could see names, there are 13 listings, like Calego checkmarking those who have confirmed training mentors. He just literally never got spotlight or even had his name listed before this chapter.
Using a scale used to be how people would figure out if Commander decks were in those plastic mystery boxes they sell at Walmart... Not possible to do that now since they got smarter with how they pack those things.
It's a story that is trying to establish varying levels of world building... it is doing it okay enough(won't complain about that one), but the author is putting too much emphasis on it without establishing an actual plot of events to follow.
So, we have:
-People go to an academy to become...
Or, this guy is trying to hide in audacity. He says that is his weakness, she doesn't believe the "bullshit," and never reveals since she thinks it is a joke.
I'm thinking it is more because it has been so long since he has been anything else, so he may as well finish the act and let his "fellow" adventurers finish the act. He already sees a part of himself on the other side, acting as an ally. He isn't willing to sully their current situation with...
I find it ironic that he says Guts cannot be loyal like a dog... What in the fuck has Guts been then ever since he was able to pick up a sword? The only time he has actually truly fought back was in this chapter, when Gambino decided to try and kill him. Even the most loyal animal will try to...
@Mizumachi at the very least, someone is there that is making it sufficient for the fake story that the MC is an imposter to be plausible enough for the rest of the world.
@CrimsonDev I'm thinking because she is a forest spirit, she can't leave without reprecussions. Unlike the other three, which have vast areas of influence, she likely got the most gutted when the Land of the Dead was formed.
Edit: yup, went back to see if they noted anything about the size, and...
@tremv the thing is... I did. The the possibility I wrote down was because he noted in the same first chapter, "now, my plan has commenced." Kind of strange for him to note that, since the common trope for this never has a plan past "boot him the fuck out."
Also, I would just finally fucking...
@RandomBirb I wonder about that too, since the guy noted his plan can finally commence. I doubt his plan was to cause problems with his own team, considering it seems to be nearing collapse.
Reform the adventurers and their practices, even at the cost of his own team if need be? Could be...
As far as info dumps go, this isn't a horrifically bad one. It's done in such a way that it actually seems like actual pub banter with how they talk. There are info dumps that get horrific.
