@mahtan Type 4 does not mean the version but Year in Japanese Army nomenclature. Army Type 4 Fighter (aka Ki-84 Hayate mean Whirlwind) was put into service in 1944 which is the 2604th Year and as you can see the last digit is used.

@Kisato The internet tells me that "casting pearls before swine", "talking to a fence post", "wasting one's breath" .... or ironically "leading a horse to water" (meaning that you can lead it to water but cannot make it drink) all work as opposite of "preaching to the choir".
