@Azure_1802 I think a plausible reason is maybe the Duke’s first wife (Theodore and Riana’s mother) was an arranged marriage and stepmother is his actual lover. This would give stepmother more reason to hate on her stepchildren.

I’m confused about the jewel eyes and Estrella’s ability to see people’s aura.... if imperial family has jewel eyes, why doesn’t it seem like the emperor and his 3 children have jewelled blue eyes (they clearly lack the sparkle Estrella’s gold eyes have)? Is this power to see auras associated...
