@kuuga
None of them should be mentioned here as they are in different league.
Even “show me your panties” comedy harem, the new TWGOK, is superior and has better chemistry.
When a parody manga has deeper relationships you know something is wrong.
People who expected harem ending from such a “serious” and trying hard to be “realistic” and morally “correct” proper manga are delusional. Boggles my mind.
I agree it would be great, but never had such expectations.
@HakuErdrikII
Wait. There was a chemistry with Yotsuba? I thought it was a goofy friend side character.
People talk about Vietnam flashback in relation to Nisekoi, but all I am reminded of is: I wish this manga was half as good...
But I do realize there are some aspects and nuances here that...
Niko is the best, because tsunderes rule and her Schrodinger pantsu devotion was in a league of its own, but Anubis is nice too, quite entertaining.
Both are 100x better than that boring new girl he has kinda fallen for.
This manga is a really mediocre harem romance because none of these characters have good chemistry. Maybe with Miku at the beginning when they talked about history there was something and with Nino when she confessed, but 90% of it all is really lacking. It all feels really shallow and these...
It blows my mind that so many people who read this kind of manga still don’t understand that in this genre dating means end of the story or even worse - a switch to a forced drama.
Once they start dating the longing is gone and with it the entire point of the story.
For a typical, cliche romance manga Nino’s behaviour is shockingly realistic.
While I’m not fond of this story I’m quite impressed how the author evaded the common teen-friendly trope of everyone’s being okay with losing. Bravo.
@TwoHeavens
No. I meant actual genre. Romance genre is always about longing or drama otherwise it doesn’t work as a story and is pointless. 90% of the power of this genre is ‘shipping’ couples. That’s what creates excitement. There is a reason why majority of the non-dramatic romance stories...
I thought it would be about two enemies slowly falling in love (like a properly done Reylo), but instead it starts with dating, so all the actual romance is done. IMO a really wasted premise.
There was almost zero romantic chemistry with Yotsuba, so even though she is technically a great choice it’s so unrealistic it just feels fake.
This is almost like some kind of a deus ex machina romance.
But, to be honest, this manga always lacked stronger emotions, so it’s below average when...
@Purplelibraryguy
Well said and I fully agree, however keep in mind that some of the people you criticize may simply be younger than you or just not as mature etc. Most people get that kind of empathy and understanding with age and life experience. Kids tend to be the worst (in an innocent way)...
@Tiorlan
You just wrote the definition of the “harem” genre. Why are you asking why water is wet? That’s like the entire point of its existence.
If you want something more nuanced but with (seemingly) a harem you will have to look for mangas that officially aren’t in this genre, but actually do...

Legacy - works in both modes
Default - I have to switch from default (for this manga) long strip setting to a single page and not swipe before that or it will crash

I guess iOS Safari isn’t tested by devs, so issues are expected.
My Safari on iOS crashes on some mangas.
This one https://mangadex.org/title/41519/kusozako-choroin-nishiga-hachi
crashes browser on default reader, but works okay on the legacy one. My guess is image size / RAM issue.
