What makes Kanna’s design gothic? In the anime and presumably here too she dresses in bright pink/white clothing, that doesn’t really seem like goth style to me.

The haphazard way the anime portrayed the group suicide part always annoyed me, I definitely appreciate how they took a subject like suicide more seriously in this manga adaptation.
