I'm glad I read the manga after watching the anime. The ending was so much better in the manga, in the anime it felt more rushed and unsatisfactory. Also, the final confrontation in the anime was way too direct after the whole cat-and-mouse detective game playing through the entire story...
Loincloth Mask is from Kyou Kara Ore Wa? I guess I've found myself a manga to reread, I can't remember that at all. Not remembering something from that great manga is a sin.

Murata's version returned to One's original story, 'though. They simply added a tournament filler arc, which was pretty good overall (especially how they handled the 'big bad' ?).
Not to mention, the story board of the "filler" has been drawn by One himself. He still decides how the plot goes in...
Even though the Final Boss has been turned into a little kid is is (assumably) defenseless, his 'nice smile' at the end upped the creep factor by at least 50%. Probably because there's no way in predicting what comes next / how he'll behave now.
