I think this story might be too dark for me. I thought the author was going lighter after Red Storm but this story actually seems like more of a bummer.
I won't claim this story is amazing in a vacuum, but it's astonishing how many magnitudes more entertaining it is than 99% of the other ‘cultivator‘ stories in the same vein.
He is being way too pointlessly careful. It's not like they have to fuck day one. They can just go on dates, hold hands, kiss, etc, and If they don't have mutual feelings it would become real obvious at some point along way before sex comes up. The dumbest conceit in romance stories is that once...
I’ll never understand those “tune in next week” type editor’s notes at the end of chapters. They don’t add anything and it isn’t like they’ve ever enticed someone to read the next chapter who otherwise wouldn’t have. And in more serious or action-y stories they actively detract from the impact...
Whenever a character has telepathy as a core plot element in a story the author always makes most everyone completely twofaced and vile to everyone around them, but that feels so far from my experience. Im not, and I highly doubt most others are constantly just tearing down everyone around them...
So I guess this author just has the same backstory for every villian? They were tragedy’d by edgelord villians so they become carbon copies of those edgelord villians as payback? Inertia has been keeping me reading but I doubt I’ll last more than another chapter.
@BirchJuice Becuase that's a ludicrous idea, and also not how female groups tend to structure themselves (whether from social conditioning or inherent genetic traits). Also women have historically suffered under a binary gender organized society and wouldn't have great reasons to want to subject...
I haven't and won't read this, but I have to say it seems unlikely that if all men died the first thing women would do is create an identical system of power imbalance.
Jesus. A little girl's blind cat followed her outside without her realizing then froze to death and she found it's corpse? Where did this hyper depressing flashback come from in this super light manga?
@Hyte Then clearly we were talking about different things. Voyager 1 is going to pass within 1.7 light years of a completely random star, not a predetermined destination. And for context the entire milkyway is about 100,000 light years across, and the earth is about 0.000016- light years from...
@Hyte The speed of our probes was not my concern. If we aimed a probe at the nearest star (excluding Sol) and used every last bit of modern knowledge to calculated it’s trajectory, there is still 0% chance the probe would end up anywhere near the desired star. In fact there is little chance of...
... is the author keeping that “rival is is love with the heroine” plotline until the end of the series? It has already been brought to a head then “resolved” like four times.
The way she acts so shocked any time anyone says anything beyond pleasantries is getting pretty silly. Pretty obvious the author/artist is trying to make it seem more exciting since it's so dialogue heavy.
