There's only one episode of the anime out so far so they're kind of hard to compare but at least that episode felt like a more faithful adaption of the novel than this manga. The manga skips a lot. At times it feels like I'm reading a cliff notes version of something.

Honestly I have nothing against the classic tsundere trope (in manga at least...). It can be pretty cute sometimes. But this is not the classic tsundere trope. It's much, much worse. The girl has taken it to 11 and mixed in yandere elements to boot.

I feel like the "so tasty" thing combined with the precise timing of cooking the meat has got to be a Monster Hunter reference.
