I thought this was the best chapter so far. MC actually recognizes the value of food tasting damn good after 3 years, and even if you figured out it was a prank, turning it into an opportunity is a wise move.
Looks like he's trying to expand the total sphere of humanity's capacity for exorcising, by exposing as many people as possible to ghosts. Explains why granny doesn't like him.
He's already maximized his personal ability to make exorcising items, so all he's got left is to recruit stronger...
They're really not going to dig into how he's purifying ore, and "hitting the iron just right" sounds real weak for what it accomplishes. The only that can achieve is a perfectly homogeneous alloy, which is not so amazing that it turns monomolecular or anything.

Not many reasons to do casting if you can laser-cut tempered sheet, but I don't think he's got the equipment for tempered sheet. Given the cheat skills, he might seriously be able to just chisel out the shape after forging a relatively large sheet.
