@Banana12 Problem is, they're complaining for the heck of it. They could've done a constructive one and point out which is lacking and direct him how to make it better. Not just "this looks shit compared to usual one"
While it could use a lot of improvement, you can more or less get the gist of it. And the guy who uploaded said it in this very thread. Try reading more and complaining less.
@Amoorhen I'm not that knowledgeable in engineering as well, but I am guessing they meant the gears connected to the larger wheel that the water turns. Not the outside wheel itself. I mean the whole mechanism wouldn't work with just the outside wheel.
@BloodySorcerer His dad is a great mate iirc. And if he is really talented, disregarding the class system, there should be no need no actually find a book for instruction. I mean even the first mages on this world have to come up with their own ways, no?
He is classless, not manaless, so there should be no reason being unable to learn magic.
@Kronous it did say though that you're on your own responsibility in the labyrinth. They went and activated the trap, it's their fault even if they were tricked.
I was afraid that the maid was plotting something sinister(bc of spy issue before), but it seems like she was planning on making cookies that wont easily crumble when put in hot chocolate.
