As I understand it, the reason why so many manga protagonists refuse intimate relationships is to have them to be more relatable to the target audience = Japanese otaku. It looks like such audience isn't limited to Japanese alone.
There are manga and stuff where it ( + racism) are more serious, and people complain it is too serious and shouldn't be in the manga/stuff. When author makes an effort to avoid such things, people come up with complaints about woke and shit. Nothing is good enough these days and everything is...
Did translation end or whole manga end already? Last chapter here ends with "To be continued"
I have read translated novel so I'm not stressing too much over the story. It's a good thing story has a conclusion even if it isn't to everyone's liking.
@DragonPanties
I hear manga outsells American comics in America. Any idea why?
@Heather2
Manga is good, some people commenting here are not. What I gather from the complaints, manga presents racism too realistically to their taste.

Are you European or do you have...
I checked it. Bandits there have other weapons besides the bows, and I recall from the novel that most of the damage were done with heavy melee weapons, like halberds. Manga missed that one all right.
@gavvas
This manga looks like it's in romance genre where female lead character is in her late teens. It is typical for these kinds of stories for such female lead to grow up, get married, and live happily ever after. Before this was called "happy end". Now woke SJW propaganda BS calls it...

"Get woke, go broke"
It is also claimed weakness: manga has no protagonist.
Public officials and military officers aren't left out from Gate either; they are there as side characters. Lately Empire's...
I recall reading something interesting. Happened in North Korea, black woman enters a convenience store, and everyone inside start screaming in terror like woman were possessed by dark spirit king. Now SJWs, BLMs, and publisher say: "Can't have that in manga!"
NOT cool! >:(
@tseng
Can you provide a spoiler please? Does Makoto-chan grow up, get married, and live happily ever after?
Before it used to be called "happy ending", but nowadays I see it called "grooming", "pedophilia" etc. >:(
Manga protagonist who don't refuse a woman? BLASPHEMY!!!
Kidding. It's good to break some cliches every now and then. Manga is based on a Web novel and is mostly faithful with some differences. One thing manga left out is Dianne (black elf) taking bath with protagonist, then bawling to Anzeros...
I have read the whole thing, and there is a character who says almost this same thing. Basically:
"Why are you still with him?"
"Because he hasn't dumped me yet"
I don't see anything wrong with that. Do you?
