It's been some time since I read the novel, but I wonder if it ever goes deeper into Akira's past. Like if he's got some unknown personal history he's yet to find out about (secret son of some apocalypse-world VIP, influential gang leader or similar.)

@TulipMoon Out of curiosity, is the previous translator, Amarrez, OK with you taking over this title? I know they have not updated this manga in a while, but I'm not sure if they have actually dropped it for good or if they are just putting in on hiatus until they get better quality scan raws...

To add to your post on the villainess role, I've noticed their original game role in these stories are more akin to the bitchy love rivals you find in some shoujo manga and soap operas.
To my knowledge most actual otome games don't have love rivals like...
It's always interesting how a good number of otome romance worlds have a sexist, paternalist society in them (much like RL history), and that depending on the author either the female lead will revolutionize this outdated thinking, climb to a position of respect in her own right, or not address...
