@HKAsuka Actually, he did have some described logic for keeping it out of his inventory. He thought that, since this was a resurrection item, he would be unable to use it if the orb was stuck in his inventory; as such, he wanted to keep it out to make sure he would be able to revive himself...
From what I can see, this type of story has two outcomes for the MC to survive to adulthood
1. Dietrich’s cold heart is completely melted and he simply cannot bring himself to kill her
2. MC somehow becomes far stronger, to the point that she can defend herself from Dietrich’s betrayal and...
A 9-Star rating... It’s very rare for a series of this genre to have such a high rating, and in this case it’s completely deserved. One of my favorite up-and-coming series atm
