@aceblitzer
because a fantasy soccer cartoon is so difficult to read that people need to be reminded of basic details regarding it every other chapter. in your case, you don't even know what you're looking at.
@aceblitzer
you need the speed of bale to catch up to a slow rolling ball because it grazed otomo's foot? are you so blind that you missed that part too?
it's not even that great of a cross either. if it were, it would've been aimed somewhere it could be tapped in easily.
@Petrichormus
Have you been paying any attention at all?
How did you miss all the context that's been given about this team?
This is the same team that lost four matches straight without scoring any goals and could only win the seventh because the top goalscorer of the premier league was...
@kryssN
good comment but the point the manga is making isn't about whether mixing styles is good or bad. it's about how you arrive at doing it. are you deliberately mixing styles because you believe it gives your team the best chance to win tactically?
or are you doing it because you're feeling...
@Detoxive
And the manga's been pretty explicit about the gap j-youth teams have against regular ones?
Esperion has:
1. a pro team plus sponsorships that finances its youth team. they have incredible facilities in comparison to regular youth clubs.
2. an A team who are the perennial winner of...
The answer is obviously they want Ashito to focus on defending first, a skill he starts at 0 with, before honing his playmaking. He only has the trust of a few teammates anyway. You think a playmaker who doesn't have the complete trust of his team is effective?
This moot point keeps getting...
Tonari forgot to point this out but the thinking reed from Ashito's name comes from a famous Blaise Pascal quote:
“Man is only a reed, the weakest in nature, but he is a thinking reed. There is no need for the whole universe to take up arms to crush him: a vapour, a drop of water is enough to...
@Fikish
we had more than a dozen people working on be blues during those days. we hardly have 6 right now on ao ashi so it's not feasible. if you want batches, we need typesetters or people who are willing to learn and be taught how to do it. why don't you do it?
@Lefuz
you can see what the mangaka is going for by making an mc who's fixated on scoring goals/wanting to be a forward switching positions. by letting ashito discover the nice parts about playing from the back organically, the same is being done to readers who have the same bias. this manga...
@Petrichormus
Maybe? I mean, some of them already defer to him whenever his mind starts ticking and he's constructing plays like in v6 with asari and kuroda or on defense with otomo in this match. someone already mentioned this in the comments on a previous chapter but ashito's never had...
@Petrichormus
if you were to watch/play any team game like basketball or football, a very important aspect of defense is communication. it's probably harder in football but in basketball, you can hear players shouting defensive coverages or what play the opponent is trying to run all the time on...
One more thing to note about this chapter is coffee sensei says this is his first time attempting to depict locking in the manga.
Sample of locking:
