I think he was faking not wanting to hit the humanoids with poison to get the Soul Eater to let it's guard down. He got shot the moment he tried to target it the first time, so the MC pretended he had lost the will to fight. He killed them all in the end, so I doubt he had any issue...
Kid doesn't have any hope of anything unless he admits to her who he actually is and why he reached out to her.
I wouldn't call him crazy, just immature. He needs someone to talk to about his feelings, or he might actually grow up poorly.

Well, Iruma's proven himself to be an excellent leader when he's confident in himself, him winding up the next Demon King isn't too far fetched an idea. Especially with how the anime opens.

I like how this version of Iruma is just more confident and assertive rather than something villainous. He makes a very good leader, able to sway people and use their individual talents to great extent. Maybe the real Iruma can learn to be more confident after seeing what happens when he applies...
