Fun fact: In the Web Novel Kumoko considered to also kill the guards and people on the carriage just for the EXP.
This follow the trend of Kumoko being more human in the LN/Manga than she is in the WN.

I don't specially love the storytelling of the manga because it ruins the way the plot is constructed in the novel. In the novel the result hardly matter thanks to the jumps through the timeline, what matter is the events that lead to that...

The manga right now is literally at the end of volume 4.
I would recomend you to wait for the next chapter (tomorrow) to start directly in volume 5. Next chapter should end with Kumoko meeting .
btw you should know that to jump from the manga to the light novel you'll need to read...

Maybe the manga wouldn't be a chain of battle after battle if the mangaka would have adaptated the S-chapters.
In the Novel the S-chapters work as stoping points between Kumoko's fight, world building and present the second group of characters.
Also the slow releases didn't help the...
