@Dragei I watched a panel show a few years ago (QI) where they heavily supported the second hypothesis. The first hypothesis they said doesn't seem right because giraffes usually have to lean down to eat leaves in a tree.

I like that Haru's clapping sound effect is different to Master's because he's a dog and has difficulty clapping.
I don't know much Japanese so most of the time I don't get the punchline until I typeset polarisunique's translation, but I got the joke this time the moment I saw Surstromming on the tin.
I think my favourite joke is how they are okay with eating anything whether if its a dolphin, a horse, a koi, or a spirit that looks like a parrot/macaw.
Interestingly enough the female version of Anubis in Egyptian mythology is depicted as a normal looking woman without a dog's head, so the author's version is quite accurate.
