Yeah... he was struggling with two selves - the him who is growing up and wants to get away from his parents especially the mom, and the him who wants to be with his mom.
But now with the trauma from his cousin's issue, there is PTSD too. This can't be good for his mental health...
@SotiCoto Could be. They may have gaslighted her on a regular basis. This may have developed into something unhealthy which was applied to her son. Perhaps she was giving him the familial love she always wanted but couldn't have as best as she could.
But Sei himself is pretty shifty... he does...
@dawned I didn't read the novel, so it's based on pre-existing knowledge. The Constellation name, hints of how powerful the Constellation is, and how the Constellation would get upset at his incarnation being called a samurai points to the Admiral.
I’ve never read the novel before, but so far I feel for all parties – Navier, Sovieshu and Rashta.
Navier and Sovieshu is the case whereby their marriage became the tomb of love. Their marriage was actually already on the verge of death even before Rashta entered the picture.
