@Shaolin_Funk Neither. Kiss-shot's weakened little girl form is called Shinobu Oshino. This arc in the manga is Araragi recalling a story that already happened. So, even though she is Kiss-Shot in the story, in the present while Araragi is telling the story, she is Shinobu.

While I much prefer the main story in the anime+novels better, I really do love the manga, and how it takes the main story and adds its own unique details to it, as well as adding more action. Honestly I never wondered what kizumonogatari would be like if it were a shonen battle manga but now...

@Saamok this arc is the story of how araragi met Kiss-Shot and how she became shinobu oshino later. There's a different arc later on that gives the backstory on how Kiss-Shot went from a human to a vampire, and the previous encounters she's had with the vampire hunters

Shame that dramaturgy didn't get such a backstory in the main canon(novels+anime), at least as far as I know.

Note for any readers that in the original story (Kizumonogatari light novel+movies, the action was not this intense, and Dramaturgy did not "road roller da" araragi. Also, Dramaturgy was never given a backstory in the original, not even in the untranslated novels. The manga is a clone of the...

@Peanutbutth the anime is way better than the manga imo. The anime contains the original story from the light novels, while the manga follows its own canon and adds its own shit to the story. Also the manga exaggerates lots of stuff, as with all the additional action and more intense fights...

@alacaelum Episode's past isn't brushed upon in either the LNs or the Anime. He does reappear after this arc to play a small role in one of the arcs near the end of the final season though. (btw, the "final season" isn't the final season, the off season and monster season comes after that)
