btw, i feel like this panel is almost a 1 to 1 homage to another manga, but i can't remember where i saw it. either that or its just a common way to draw someone on a bike/scooter. anyone know?

@saphirekosmos the only weird thing about that is that ponko looks like a gradeschool kid, so i can't imagine she would be very useful as a spy. unless you want to spy on elementary schoolers. :P

i can't wait to learn more about this. my understanding is that 30 years ago, after the war, production of humanoid robots ceased due to regulation. then, they decided to grandfather in any humanoid robots already in service. i assume they are just waiting for the robots to reach "end of life"...

lol, i looked it up because i was curious: https://www.dictionary.com/e/slang/karen/ i think the difference for me will be to see if she does it to people other than yuuna and gen. if she's like that to everybody then i will agree that she's a karen. :P

pretty sure "karen" means racist, entitled, privileged white woman. someone who yells at a cashier at a store for making a small mistake, etc. yuuna's mom isn't a karen, she's just a bad parent.

this ends this little arc, and we'll be going back to a more regular schedule now. we really didn't want you to have to wait weeks for the yuuna's mom thing to resolve. enjoy <3

ok, i went back to check: in chapter five, gen learns from ponko's evaluation form that chiaki was the one who contracted ponko. he calls his son who says "we don't know the details, we just know mom said that 'she would be perfect for you'." so yes. gen knows chiaki wanted ponko to live with...

@Betony same. that page of ponko looking around for help and realizing she was on her own broke my heart... re: grandpa pushover, i think its more of a plot device than anything. it needed to happen so ponko could grow. if he protected her she wouldn't have said "no". shitty of gen, but think...

@nunally i think so. i need to go back and re-read the entire series sometime soon. i'm sure there are other details that i've forgotten.

@yetiwarrior i'm not sure if gen is actually aware of that fact. I know we as readers know that info, but i actually can't remember if gen knows. i'm not even sure he knows that ponko knew chiaki when she was in the hospital.
