They talk about fighting from the shadows and magic. Spies and insurgents/terrorists with magic would be very difficult to deal with unless the JSDF have a way of detecting mages. Lelei used sleep magic right? Sleep magic alone can be very useful to those in the shadows.

I'm thinking magicians using guerrilla/unconventional warfare would be a big pain to counter. Especially after they learn the limitations of some modern tech and maybe get some modern tech to reuse for themselves. Imagine a terrorist, spy or assassin with some modern tech AND magic. Even basic...
