@Cencourang I think Mogumo wanted a little time to talk with their mom and establish who Tetsu is before bringing him into the conversation. If they'd shown up being like "hey family, I'm back after months away, also here's my boyfriend," Mogumo's Dad might have just slammed the door in their...
@Midoriha It seems clear from context that Lemon was referring to himself/Opera/Cocoa, not Tarou. But just to verify I looked at the original Japanese panel: To identify the group he's talking about in those two speech bubbles, Lemon uses the phrase 男だらけ. This translates literally as "riddled...
Yikes... I knew Zhou Cheng Yi was going to be a bit overbearing/stalkery from chapter 1, but I didn't think he'd straight up assault Dao Tian. I thought he was really cool when he intervened with the creeper; why did he have to ruin it by becoming a creeper himself? I guess he seems to regret...
@N2O Chapters 1-10 of the serialized version are redraws of the pre-serialized chapters that have already been translated. They look nicer but are almost identical dialogue. The translator is understandably skipping the redundant chapters for now.
@kurisu I'm not sure what process you're using to rip from melonbooks, but at least from the melonbooks windows app I was able to save screenshots just fine. I realize taking screenshots isn't a good way to get images for a whole volume, but this is a 4 page extra. Its your call what you want...
@kurisu I was referring to the self-published volumes from melonbooks (they sell an e-book version as well):
Volume 1 - https://www.melonbooks.co.jp/detail/detail.php?product_id=669085
Volume 2 - https://www.melonbooks.co.jp/detail/detail.php?product_id=724027
This scene specifically is pages...
@kurisu Thanks for the translation, but why translate this version instead of the more fleshed out 4 page version in Volume 1? Its basically the same scene, but goes into the specifics of Lemon's worldview a lot more.
@JamalPajeetBugMeNotAccountThief We seem to agree that she's a transwoman, so why are you listing all the requirements to legally transition in Japan? I wasn't saying Tarou's complaints about her legal status were invalid; I was using the complaints as evidence that she's being depicted as a...
@xp32 I agree with the other commenters that given the context Tarou is definitely saying she's a transwoman, even if it isn't a 100% literal translation. But to address your concerns about future chapters: I've read all of the raws currently released, and Tarou is consistently depicted as a...
@Qyubey
1. I think the reason Ryuu was so pissed about being called ugly is less about ego and more about effort. Ryuu's primary hobby is crossdressing, and he clearly puts a lot amount of time and effort into it being as good as possible. So his friend calling him ugly is going to hurt way...
@Qyubey
Ryuu literally shouted "Apologize" over and over at the end of the argument, so yes I think his goal was an apology. And wanting someone to rephrase or retract their rude statement is pretty standard for an apology about that statement. He wants Ushikawa to focus on his own feelings...
@I_I_Hope_I_I I think you're being unfair to Ryuu. Ryuu's initial reaction upon seeing Ushikawa in chapter 1 was very positive, and not self involved at all. He says things like "I can't believe how tall you've gotten" and "I guess you've become quite the ladies man." Ryuu only began making...
I really enjoyed Zhao's explanation of bigotry. I felt she did a good job explaining that bigotry grows in a society by feeding off irrational fear, then becomes self sustaining as even those who know the fear is irrational are scared of disagreeing with the majority stance.
Regarding Wei Yuxi...
This was really interesting. I think it was a happy ending after all, since the whole concept is that the boy is the vessel for the lady's magic. Filling a cup with tea doesn't destroy the cup, it changes what it is. Likewise the boy might not be human anymore, but he'll be a part of...
