I can see how you could end up robbed by adventurers, but isn't that the point of paperwork? What's the benefit of using this organization to hire people if you can just go missing and they don't get in trouble?
I'm waiting for them to show serious precise magic attacks to compare a gun to. So far all we've seen is a large amount of water or fire that appears right next to the caster. All the high end stuff was done for her by the gnome.
I don't think it's unreasonable to be mad that people expect her to be thankful that she got "saved" long after the worst stuff already happened. I wouldn't trust the MC either. The orphanage guy's whole shtick was that he was altruistically helping those children after all.
It would be nice if they focused more on what people were thinking about. It feels like they skip things to get to the action and then pretend they didn't skip them.
He's mistaking machine cut meat for something cut by hand. It's the uniform thin-cut bacon that is surprising him, that isn't easy to do by hand. If it were thick bacon it wouldn't be as surprising.
