Just speedreading through this thing and I have to say I really appreciate the whimsy of this series. The slice of life genre is something I've come to hate, though I really admire the pacing and strong characterisation of this manga.
When Sakurai pet that cat without consent I literally put my fist through my monitor. So glad to know there's a special place in hell for disgusting filth like him.
I honestly quite enjoyed this manga. It reminded me a bit of the Fleetway comic and how zones from the games were featured as actual locations.
I think what I find more interesting, though, is how different it is from the final game. Obviously this was being produced alongside Sonic 1's...

I mean I don't hate this ending but I wish the characters didn't second-guess their feelings at every bend of the story. The highlight of all of this was definitely Lily. Bless her heart.
